ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A 17-year-old is facing attempted homicide charges in connection with a stabbing in Allentown Friday night.

Police said it happened around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Washington and Penn streets, and that the dispute was over a girl both had dated.

The teen, who police are not identifying, apparently stabbed the victim, Salvador Mendoza, 21, of Allentown, several times.

Mendoza was treated at a local hospital.

The teen is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and simple assault.

Court records show that the teen is being held at Lehigh County Prison on $200,000 bail.
