EASTON, Pa. -

A trial is underway in Northampton County for two homicide suspects who were charged after their alleged victim died of a heart attack.

Rebecca Johnson and Rogel Suero are on trial for the death of 76-year-old Carrie Smith, of Wilson. Jury selection was held Monday.

Suero and another man broke into Smith's home last year and robbed her at gunpoint, police said.

Smith suffered a heart attack after the robbery and died months later as a result, police said.

Johnson, who is the victim's granddaughter, orchestrated the crime, investigators said.
