Monday night’s Whitehall-Coplay School District school board meeting saw members approve several committee recommendations, including the hiring of five teachers. Board member Wayne Grim was absent.

Sarah Herot, Joseph Page, Mark Freeman, David Cressman and Mark Magro are the latest instructors at the district. Page, Freeman and Cressman will teach high school math, while Herot will instruct music across the district and Magro will teach high school English.

In other business, the board awarded insurance policies to various companies and school textbooks and novels for students to use during the 2012-2013 school year.
There is no scheduled second school board meeting during July, according to President Eileen Abruzzi. The next meeting is set for August 13th.
