A woman was arrested for shoplifting about $250 worth of merchandise from a Walmart, including a pair of sneakers she had put on her granddaughter's feet, officials said.
Millie L. Kieran, 51, was stopped with the merchandise as she tried to leave the Walmart at 3722 Easton Nazareth Highway, Lower Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., at about 3:20 p.m. Saturday, officials said.
Store security said Kieran was in the kids aisle when she removed a pair of sneakers from a shelf and put them on her granddaughter's feet, officials said, adding that she went to another aisle and put numerous items in her cart into a blue Walmart bag and tried to leave the store without paying for them.
Kieran, of 605 Richmond Road, Bangor, was arraigned on retail theft charge and released on $10,000 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 2.
