Boys and Girls Club of Easton holiday party
It's a holiday tradition more than 30 years old. You could feel the excitement at the Boys and Girls Club of Easton's holiday party. With the help of the community, dozens of children now have gifts underneath the tree.
"Everyone's going to go home happy," smiled Boys and Girls Club of Easton Executive Director Dean Young. "They're going to go home with some bikes , they're going to go home with some gifts, but more important they're going to go home knowing that they had some people that really cared for them."
The event was open for kids ages five through 12-years-old. There were games, crafts, and plenty of singing and dancing.
"It was very exciting for all the events that were going on," shared Michael Hernandez. "There were all different things, and they were all entertaining."
The party took three months to plan and organize. Officials hope the visit from Old Saint Nick helps lighten the load at home this holiday. As for volunteers, they say being there was the best gift they could ask for.
"My favorite part was helping out," added 13-year-old Zhanya Mulero. "Seeing people's smiles on their faces."
