LEHIGH TWP., Pa. -

A fire that broke out at church in Northampton County early Thursday was sparked by lightning, officials said.

The blaze broke out just before 2 a.m. at the Bethany Wesleyan Church, 675 Blue Mountain Drive, in Lehigh Township.

Firefighters said they were able to contain the fire to the roof of gymnasium at the church's Family Life Center.

The building had to be ventilated after it filled with smoke.

No one was injured.
