ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A new Allentown fitness center is promising to take your workout to the next level.

Lehigh Valley Health Network's One City Center fitness center opens in less than a week.

"Everything is brand new. Cardio, strength training, kettle bells, free weights, functional area for boot camp style training," LVHN director of rehabilitation and fitness services Craig Souders said.

Adjacent to the new hockey arena on Seventh and Hamilton streets, the multi-story fitness center is a destination experience for the athletically inclined.

"If you want to take training to the next level, we've got stuff you would see at an NFL locker room," Souders said.

The fitness center includes a state of the art timing system for sprinters, sliding board for skaters and a vertical jump test used at NFL combines, to name a few.

"Not only train you but you can be assessed, so we can capture how well you are doing in the sports performance area," sports performance director Jesse Schimmer said.

Amateurs, pros and weekend warriors will all have access to the equipment, which includes treating athletes with mild traumatic brain injuries.

Perhaps the coolest technology is the sports simulator, a giant screen where you can simulate soccer, golf, hockey among others.

The big screen is to help athletes perfect their form or recover from injury.

You too can see it all for yourself. The fitness center is set to open Wednesday with a public preview set for Tuesday evening.
