Group prays jobs will be focus of Mayor's Community Development agenda
Allentown residents gathered on the first floor of City Hall Tuesday afternoon for a very peaceful kind of protest.
Participants held a vigil during the Mayor's Community Development meeting to pray that employment in Allentown would be a priority in the meeting upstairs.
Participants say the Allentown Employment and Training Center, created so residents can find jobs within the Neighborhood Improvement Zone, is a good effort but they say it's not enough.
Mayor Pawlowski has said the arena and the NIZ development are creating some 4,000 jobs.
