Homeless drug dealer's rip-off goes awry
Aurielle "Boots" Wright arrested
A homeless drug dealer who reneged on her promise to sell heroin to a police informant was busted for marijuana possession instead, officials said.
Aurielle "Boots" Wright told a police informant she would sell him a bundle of heroin and a gram of marijuana for $85.
But when Wright showed up in the 1600 block of Railroad Street in Northampton, Northampton Co., around 11:30 p.m. Friday, she took the informant's marked money but didn't hand over any drugs, officials said.
After she was arrested, Wright told police she had no intention of selling the informant heroin because he owed money to a friend of hers, officials said, adding that Wright said she intended to "rip" the informant.
Police found the marked bills the informant gave to Wright in her vehicle, as well as three small bags of marijuana, $755 in cash, a silver digital scale and rolling papers.
Wright, 24, was arraigned early Saturday morning on charges of drug possession, delivery of a controlled substance and theft and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $20,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Sept. 27.
