ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

A job fair for positions in the soon-to-open PPL Center, also known as Allentown's new hockey arena, will be held next week.

Open to all job seekers, the career fair will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at PA CareerLink Lehigh Valley, 555 Union Blvd., Allentown.

Another arena job fair was held Thursday, but that one specifically was for Allentown residents.

More than 300 full-time and part-time positions will be needed for the city's new multi-purpose venue. Those positions are in the box office, event staff, guest services and security.

The arena will seat more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Phantoms professional hockey games, making it the region’s largest events venue.

Those doing the hiring include Global Spectrum, the Philadelphia-based company that manages the PPL Center; Ovations, the  food service provider of PPL Center, and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the tenant team and NHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers.

“We will hire the most qualified candidate for each open position,” said Global Spectrum’s Gunnar Fox, General Manager of PPL Center.
