Jonathan Nunez convicted of 1st degree murder in killing of Kimberly Cardona
After a week-long trial, an Allentown man has been convicted of first degree murder in the death of a Lehigh County woman.
Jonathan Nunez was found guilty Monday of first degree murder in the death of Kimberly Cardona.
The two got into a fight last July in a wooded area in Salisbury Township, police said.
Nunez, 21, beat Cardona, of Whitehall Township, until she was unconscious, said investigators, who noted that he later returned to the scene and slit her throat.
Nunez is facing a mandatory sentence of life in prison.
