Lavon Vereen punches brother, gets into more trouble with continued cursing, police say
A man who took a poke at his sibling got into more trouble when he couldn't stop cursing while police were investigating, officials said.
Lavon J. Vereen socked his brother, Marquis Vereen, in the face at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday in their home at 223 Palmer St., Easton, officials said, adding Marquis Vereen had an open wound under his left eye when police arrived.
While officers were talking to Marquis Vereen inside the house, Lavon Vereen was pelting his brother with profanity outside the home, and continued to do so even after police asked him to stop, officials said.
Court papers did not indicate why Lavon Vereen hit his brother.
Lavon Vereen, 20, was charged with assault, harassment and disorderly conduct and released on $2,500 unsecured bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 20.
