Man assaulted and robbed disabled woman in cemetery soon after she cashed check, police say
A man hit and kicked a disabled woman and robbed her of $600 in a cemetery soon after she had cashed a check, officials said.
Anthony J. Giamoni knocked Georgia A. Snell to the ground and kicked her repeatedly in the ribs before robbing her of $600 in Easton Cemetery, 401 North 7th St., Easton, at about 12:30 p.m. Friday, officials said.
Giamoni also punched a 9-year-old in the stomach and pushed him to the ground before running away, and both Snell and the juvenile were taken to the hospital, officials added.
Snell told police she went to the cemetery to visit the graves of friends soon after she had cashed a $600 check, officials said.
Snell picked out her attacker from a photo lineup, officials said.
Giamoni, 29, of 141 South 12th St., Easton, was arraigned on charges of robbery, assault and theft and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $35,000 bail, according to court documents,
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. July 19.
