HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

A Bethlehem man is facing charges after a 16-year-old girl told police he assaulted her in June.

According to court documents, the girl willingly went with 58-year-old Michael Anthony Burdo, of 2548 Brader Street, to the Scottish Inn at 1701 Catasauqua Road in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

She told police he was a friend of hers and she was wearing a blindfold because Burdo told her he had a "surprise" for her.

The victim said once they were inside the hotel room, she was hit several times on the back of the head with a rubber mallet, police said, and then he tied her to the bed.

The teen told police that Burdo assaulted her while she was tied to the bed.

The alleged attack happened on June 5.

On Friday, police arrested Burdo and charged him with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and simple assault.
