A Lehigh County woman who was convicted of killing her fiance on their wedding day will not be getting a new trial.

A judge has denied the request filed on behalf of Na Cola Franklin. Police said she stabbed Billy Brewster in their home in Whitehall Township in 2012, just hours before they were supposed to get married.

Franklin was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.

Her lawyer had argued that a third degree murder conviction would have been more appropriate.
