BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

The embattled National Museum of Industrial History in Bethlehem is getting a boost from donors, which could mean bad news for Lehigh University.

Museum officials said they received $3 million Monday from an anonymous donor that promised the money last month.

The museum may also be getting more than $5 million from a trust set up by Bethlehem Steel.

Bethlehem Steel originally set up the trust for legal protection in the 1980s and named Lehigh University as the beneficiary.

The time period for which that that trust was available has since passed and the funds can be distributed.

If all of the involved parties agree, the money can be given to the museum.
