Nicole Sestak steals jewelry from store, found in shop next door, police say
A woman who stole jewelry from a store was arrested after being spotted by a store employee in a shop next door, officials said.
Nicole Sestak was recognized by Danielle Mulligan in The Attic, 516 Main St., Bethlehem, just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, as the the woman who less than an hour before walked out of The Gem Store at 518 Main St., with $85 worth of jewelry, officials said.
Mulligan and another Gem Store employee saw Sestak steal a $10 pair of light green stud earrings; a $48 light green purse; a $15 gold infinity necklace and a $12 tri-color ring at about 3:10 p.m., officials said.
Sestak's identity was discovered when Mulligan went to The Attic and described the thief to shop owner Khelee Rose, officials said, adding that Rose said Sestak had been selling jewelry to her store.
Sestak walked into The Attic while Mulligan and Rose were talking, officials said.
Sestak, 30, of 110 Wilden Dr., Palmer Twp., Northampton Co.,, was arraigned on charges of felony retail theft because of four previous convictions and receiving stolen property and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $3,000 bail, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. May 31.
