PALMER TWP., Pa. -

Bowling is one way to stay active, but Alois Himsl said it was the Army food that helped him reach 100 years old.

Himsl is a member of the Bar-Don Lanes senior bowling league in Palmer Township, Northampton County, and Monday, he celebrated his 100th birthday at the bowling alley.

Himsl, who served in the Army for 26 years, is a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

He worked for the United States Postal Service after his military career.

Himsl still stays active. He said he has been bowling three games a week since he retired in 1982.
