A fire ripped through a New Jersey home on Wednesday, killing 10 cats that were inside, officials said.

Flames broke out at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on 2 Stone Mill Road in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County.

It took firefighters about 90 minutes to contain the fire.

Nobody was home at the time.

Officials said the owner was a cat rescuer, and it's unclear how many cats survived.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious, but it's still under investigation, authorities said.
