Horse cruelty case

Almost all charges have been dismissed against a New Jersey man accused of neglecting more than a dozen horses in Northampton Co., Pa.

Fourteen of the 15 charges of animal cruelty against Damiano Diflorio, of Princeton, have been dismissed, officials said. Diflorio has been ordered to pay a $375 fine.

Officials said they found 15 neglected horses at Diflorio's property in Plainfield Twp., Pa., in June.

The horses were taken to Last Chance Ranch near Quakertown, Bucks Co., Pa. The horses still need to be adopted, officials said. In the meantime, they're accepting donations to cover the shelter's costs.
