Body of David Russell of High Bridge found in South Branch River

A Hunterdon County, New Jersey man who was reported missing has turned up dead.

Officials say 30-year-old David Russell of High Bridge was reported missing Monday around 6:45 p.m.

He was last seen Sunday night with friends in Clinton.

On Tuesday around 9 a.m., police found a body in the South Branch River near Lower Center Street in Clinton.

The Hunterdon County Medical Examiner has now identified the body as Russell's.

Officials also say their initial investigation shows Russell's death was an accident.

But they're still investigating the full cause and manner of his death.
