2 charged with stealing copper, brass piping from Hackettstown home
Two men are facing burglary and other charges after they were caught with stolen items in Hackettstown, Warren Co.
Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked behind a home on Birch Lane around 5:30 p.m. July 14.
When officers arrived, they saw the vehicle in question leaving the scene.
Police pulled the vehicle over, and through an investigation they found that 25-year-old Thomas Burnett of Hopatcong, Sussex Co., and 27-year-old Jonathan Hummer of Hackettstown, had entered the house on Birch Lane.
Police said Burnett and Hummer removed copper piping, brass piping and tableware.
Both men were charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief, and were both released pending a court appearance.
