Bernie Kidd of Phillipsburg arrested for child endangerment
Twenty-six-year-old Bernie A. Kidd of Phillipsburg was arrested Tuesday for endangering the welfare of a child.
Law enforcement officials maintain Kidd endangered a two-year-old child by leaving the victim without care or supervision for four hours at a Phillipsburg home.
The charge is one count of second degree endangering the welfare of a child, which carries a maximum penalty of up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Kidd resides at 111 Filmore St.
The suspect is in jail. Bail was set at $100,000, with no 10 percent option. A condition of bail is that Kidd would have no contact with the victim or the victim's family.
The investigation was conducted by Detective Sergeant Michael Swick of the Phillipsburg police department as well as Detectives Heidi Skibenes and Raymond Rowlin of the Warren County Prosecutor's Office.
