Police are investigating an accident on I-78 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.

Sgt. Adam Grossman of New Jersey State Police said the accident happened shortly after 4:00 this afternoon in the westbound lanes of I-78 in Bloomsbury. Grossman told 69 News that one car left the roadway, striking a guardrail and overturning.

Grossman said one person from the vehicle was flown to St. Luke's Hospital. That person is in serious condition, according to Grossman.

Grossman says westbound traffic was being diverted off of the highway at Exit 7 for a few hours after the accident. No delays are currently reported.
