Hackettstown, N.J., man turns violent when alcohol runs out, police say
Nelson Granados-Oviedo accused of stabbing man
A man turned violent Friday afternoon when the alcohol ran out, police said.
When Hackettstown, N.J. arrived at the scene of a reported dispute in the 100 block of Mountain Avenue, they found 20-year-old Nelson Granados-Oveido sitting in a chair with a knife by his foot and blood on the door.
Police said Granados-Oveido started to punch another man after the alcohol ran out around 3 p.m. While he was punching, another man tried to help the victim and was elbowed in the process, police said.
Granados-Oviedo left the house, returned with a knife and allegedly stabbed the man in the stomach, police said.
Both victims refused medical treatment.
Granados-Oviedo was charged with simple assault, aggravated assault with a weappon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a straight edge knife.
He was taken to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail.
