BETHLEHEM TWP., N.J. -

A New Jersey man was airlifted to the hospital Friday morning after a tractor fell on him.

Police said a 59-year-old man was working on a lawn tractor on Mine Road in Bethlehem Twp., Hunterdon Co., around 10 a.m. when the tractor fell on him.

A woman freed him and started driving him to the hospital but pulled over on Interstate 78 and called for help when she realized his condition was getting worse, officials said.

The man was then flown to St. Luke's Hospital-Fountain Hill around 10:40 a.m. from mile marker 13.

There's no word on his condition.
