Newark man indicted on drug, weapon charges
Police find marijuana, cocaine, handgun in car
A Newark, N.J. man is facing charges after police say they found a gun and marijuana in his car.
Police in Clinton Twp., Hunterdon County, New Jersey, said they stopped a black Pontiac on Route 22 for various traffic violations on Oct. 25, 2012. As the officer approached the vehicle, he smelled marijuana and saw what he thought was marijuana in the car's center console and on the floor of the car.
Police arrested 32-year-old Lloyd Jenrette after police also found a loaded .25 caliber handgun under the seat, a quantity of cocaine, about 1.5 ounces of ecstacy and 600 empty pill cases.
Jenrette faces charges of possession of MDMA (ecstasy), possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of a handgun, and related charges.
If convicted he faces up to 10 years in prison.
