Phillipsburg, N.J. arrest Edward Fleck who was allegedly involved in stabbing

PHILLIPSBURG, N.J. -

Police have arrested a man they say was involved in a stabbing Sunday in Phillipsburg, N.J.

On Thursday Edward C. Fleck, 27, of the 100 block of Harris Street in Phillipsburg, was arrested in the 100 block of S. Third Street in Easton.

Phillipsburg Police said Fleck was involved in a fight Sunday with 24-year-old Troy Nelson. During the struggle, Fleck stabbed Nelson in his right torso area, police said.

Officers saw Fleck driving a car in the 100 block of South Main Street, but when they tried to pull him over, he fled the area.

Fleck is charged with being an out of state fugitive, and also faces additional charges of eluding a police officer, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Fleck is currently in the Northampton County Prison.
