Some residents against a proposed asphalt plant in New Jersey have filed suit against the company trying to build it.
Ten residents filed suit earlier this month against 189 Strykers Road Associates, LLC.
The residents accuse the company of misconduct and a violation of sunshine laws during the public hearing process on the proposed plant in Lopatcong Twp.
They say there was little regard for procedure during the hearings, many of which went into the early morning hours.
The suit also contents residents who wanted to speak out against the plant did not get that opportunity.
This is the third lawsuit filed to try and stop the plant from being built.
An attorney for 189 Strykers says the company fully met all state and local laws and is confident the court will affirm the Planning Board's decision.
