Officials have closed the case on the death of a New Jersey woman who went missing after leaving a bar in Bucks County in January.
Sarah Majoras was last seen leaving John & Peter's Bar & Restaurant in New Hope, Bucks Co., where she worked, and heading home to Lambertville, Hunterdon Co., N.J., around 2 a.m. on Jan. 26.
Majoras, 39, was seen on a bridge surveillance camera, and hundreds of people helped search for her. Her body was pulled from a nearby canal four days after she went missing.
The Hunterdon County medical examiner completed his report Monday, ruling that Majoras' death was caused by accidental drowning.
Lab results indicated a high amount of alcohol in her blood at the time of her death, officials said.
"Based upon the totality of the circumstances, including her physical condition, the icy cold weather conditions, and the lack of suspicious circumstances, Ms. Majoras’s death is considered to have been a tragic accident," said Hunterdon County Prosector Anthony Kearns III.
