New Jersey's Democratic candidate for governor has unveiled her economic plan for the state.

Barbara Buono's plan, released Monday, shifts tax credits from corporations to small businesses, emphasizes affordable college educations and restores cuts Governor Chris Christie has made to safety-net programs.

The former Senate budget committee chair said her plan focuses on shoring up the middle-class. She said investing in worker training, schools and start-up businesses will pave the way to better jobs.

Buono has been critical of the governor for approving generous corporate subsidies to attract businesses to the state or keep those already here from leaving.

Buono differs with Christie on pretty much every issue, but she has struggled to raise money and get her message across. She trails Christie by about 30 points in recent polls.
