Allentown Diocese churches to lift flu precautions
Churches in the 5-county Allentown Diocese will lift their flu precautions next week, officials announced Friday.
Beginning with Masses on Holy Thursday, March 28, parishioners will again be permitted to drink from a chalice of consecrated wine and shake hands during the sign of peace.
The precautions were put in place during the height of flu season in January as a way of protecting the health of church-goers.
The Allentown Diocese is made up of Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton and Schuylkill counties.
