Court filing: NCAA won't spend Penn State's $12M
The NCAA has agreed not to spend the $12 million paid to it under a consent agreement with Penn State over the Jerry Sandusky child molestation scandal, according to a new court filing.
A Pennsylvania judge on Wednesday put on hold a request by Pa. Sen. Jake Corman for an injunction, citing a request by both Corman and the college sports' governing body.
The request stated that the NCAA has told Corman "that for multiple reasons it has no intention to disburse" the money in the immediate future. The NCAA, it said, has promised to give Corman two months' notice if that happens.
Corman's lawsuit argued that the NCAA's plans to spend $60 million over five years from Penn State runs afoul of his oversight role in state spending.
