An operation that bills itself as America's #1 haunted attraction is adding more fright to the night this Halloween season.
"Nocturnal Wasteland is an entirely different experience from the three other events at Field of Screams because you are walking through each scene outside in the dark woods," according to a news release. "There is nowhere to hide as you make your way throughout the scenes and past the creatures awaiting your arrival."
The new attraction is the fourth for Field of Screams, located in Mountville, Lancaster Co. Also scaring up the 80,000 people who visit each season are a 20-minute haunted hayride, the "Frightmare Asylum" and the "Den of Darkness," all of which have been updated with new scenes and special effects for 2013.
Field of Screams is open Halloween night and all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 3.
The operation also offers Corn Cob Acres, a daytime attraction for children and their parents and those who are just not interested in being frightened, featuring kid-friendly games and activities.
Corn Cob Acres is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. through Nov. 3.
