Chalfont cop accused of making up shooting story heads to trial

A Bucks County cop who allegedly made up a story about getting shot is heading to trial.

Chalfont Police Officer Jon Cousin Thursday waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

In August Cousin said he had been shot in the chest while he was checking out a suspicious vehicle at the Lenape Swimming Club.

But investigators say they found that Cousin had shot his bulletproof vest.

Prosecutors have dropped a charge of reckless endangerment but they added a charge of official oppression because of the number of car checks performed due to Cousin's story.
