Damaged vehicle flees Bucks County accident scene driving on three wheels

A 21-year-old Barto man faces charges after attempting to drive away from an accident scene in a damaged vehicle that had only three functioning wheels, according to state police.

The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when Matthew Afflerbach struck the right rear of a vehicle at a traffic light at Route 663 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The vehicle driven by Afflerbach fled the scene on Route 663 South for about two miles while only driving on three wheels before coming to a rest just north of Gerryville Park.

Police said the "combative" drive had to be subdued. Charges will be filed at Perkasie District Court.
