Two months ago, a 16-year-old boy suddenly lost his life and his friends are demanding justice.
Police said the teenager was killed by a man driving a pick-up truck. The accused is facing homicide by vehicle charges and was in court Friday. And his appearance created quite a scene.
Lining East High Street on the way to the Lower Pottsgrove district courthouse were signs with "Justice for Timmy."
"When someone passes everyone says the person was amazing, but with Timmy it was different," said Maxine Bickings, "We've said that he's whole life."
Timmy Paciello lost his life on November 13, 2012 walking across that same street, East High Street. Police said Robert Sitler struck Paciello with his pick-up truck.
"For him to get killed like this and standing in trial. Timmy deserves the best," said Bickings, "We're going to make sure he's at peace and we're going to get complete justice for him."
Police said at the time of Paciello's death the passenger Denise Dinnocenti claimed she was the driver. She and Sitler told the two kids in the back seat to lie. But, investigators said after more questioning Sitler admitted he was the driver and they lied because Sitler had a few drinks and a prior record.
Authorities said Sitler was convicted of vehicular homicide-manslaughter in Alabama in 2004.
Friday he was in a packed courtroom to find out if his case would be moving to trial.
"Sitting in there with that guy in there and for him to come in and act all cocky, look around the room and act like it's not his fault and he doesn't care," said Bickings, "It's so disrespectful to the family and the friends."
Sitler didn't speak when he left the courthouse. His case is going to trial. And Paciello's friends said they'll be there in his memory.
