Funeral service for fallen officer set for Wednesday
The heroic Montgomery County officer who died in the line of duty will be laid to rest on Wednesday.
Funeral arrangements for Plymouth Township officer Brad Fox were released on Saturday.
Public viewings will be held Tuesday night (5 p.m.-9 p.m.) and Wednesday morning (7 a.m. -10:30 a.m.) at Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church at 3050 Walton Road in Plymouth Meeting.
A funeral service is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Wednesday, and burial will follow at Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
Officer Fox was killed Thursday night after chasing hit-and-run suspect Andrew Thomas, 44, officials said.
Thomas hid on a hill and ambushed Fox and his K-9 Nick, firing at least four shots at them, police said.
Fox was fatally shot in the head.
The canine suffered a graze wound and is expected to recover.
Thomas then shot himself twice in the chest and died, officials said.
