Bucks Co. DA David Heckler running for reelection
Bucks County's district attorney is ready to serve another term.
David W. Heckler announced Wednesday he plans to run for re-election.
Heckler took office in January 2010.
He was assistant district attorney in Bucks from 1972-79, then was advisor and educator to all of the state's district attorneys for the next seven years.
Heckler also served 11 years as a state senator, leaving to become a judge in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
One of my chief leadership objectives has been to empower my team members with the assurance that their primary obligation, and my primary expectation, is simply that they will do the right thing for the right reasons and do it to the best of their abilities," Heckler said.
"I believe that this has motivated my people to a high level of effectiveness. In administrative matters, because of my diverse experience, I have been able to think “outside the box”, approaching old problems in new ways. As a result, over and above competently handling our basic prosecutorial duties, I believe that we have strung together some impressive accomplishments over the last three years."
Heckler graduated from Yale University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
