Bucks Sheriff challenger takes issue with "Duke" nickname
A reelection challenger to Bucks County Sheriff Edward Donnelly wants the sheriff to "give up" his "Duke."
Tom Lingenfelter has filed a petition to get Donnelly off the ballot.
Donnelly is running for reelection as Edward "Duke" Donnelly.
Lingenfelter says that violates the state constitution which he says prohibits titles of nobility.
Donnelly and Lingenfelter are facing off in the GOP primary for Bucks County Sheriff.
Donnelly tells 69 News he's used the nickname in 2005 and 2009 and he never had any problems.
He also says, "I sure didn't come from royalty."
