A Bucks County police officer facing numerous charges after he allegedly staged a shooting incident at an area swim club, waived his preliminary hearing Thursday.
Jon Cousin, 32, of the Chalfont, police department, faces numerous misdemeanor charges after he allegedly staged being shot in his bulletproof vest at the Lenape Valley Swim Club August 29.
On Thursday, prosecutors dropped a charge of recklessly endangering another person but added the charge of official oppression. Cousin did not appear in court.
The attorney for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Robert James, told 69News the new charge was added because of the number of vehicle stops made because of Cousin's false reports.
Cousin's next court appearance is set for Nov. 19 in Doylestown.
He remains free on bail.
