A Bucks County police officer charged with faking his own shooting has pleaded guilty to making false reports to law enforcement as well as recklessly endangering another person and related charges
Former Chalfont police Officer Jon Cousin, 32, entered the plea Tuesday in Bucks County Court in Doylestown.
Cousin's attorney says his client was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder related to his previous job as a transit police officer in Philadelphia.
In August Cousin said he had been shot in the chest while he was checking out a suspicious vehicle at the Lenape Swimming Club.
But investigators say they found that Cousin had shot his bulletproof vest.
Cousin resigned from the force after his arrest. He declined to comment Tuesday.
He could face up to 17 years in prison.
