Head-on accident in Bucks County sends 2 to hospital

Both drivers suffer serious injuries

BEDMINSTER TWP., Pa. -

A head-on accident in Bucks County has sent both drivers to the hospital.

Police said a car driven by Tracy Turchi, 35, and a pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Gregory Rickert, both of Ottville,collided head-on around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident happened on Route 611, about a mile south of Route 113 in Bedminster Twp.

Police said only the drivers were in each vehicle and it couldn't be determined right away which direction the vehicles were traveling or which one crossed over the double yellow lines.

Turchi was not wearing a seat belt and had to be extricated from the car. Turchi was flown by helicopter to Abington Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Rickert was flown to St. Luke's Hospital-Bethlehem with serious injuries, police said. He was wearing a seat belt.

The roadway was closed for about three hours.
