A Bucks County man who admitted to shooting a boy in the head with a pellet gun is being sued by the boy's family.
The Elams, of Clemmons, North Carolina are seeking punitive damages of more than $50,000 against James Landis.
Police say Landis shot the Elams' 11-year-old son and a dog in July of 2011 in Hilltown Township.
Landis was upset the boy was riding an ATV near his property, police said.
Landis later admitted to simple assault and maiming an animal.
He was sentenced to five years in prison.
