Man charged with theft involving Phillies tickets
A man has been charged with theft involving more than $37,000 in Philadelphia Phillies tickets.
The tickets were purchased by The News Journal Media Group in Delaware but mistakenly delivered last month to an address for Corporation Trust Services, authorities said.
A News Journal employee later noticed that the tickets were being sold on Craigslist. Police, posing as buyers, arranged to meet the seller and determined that the seller, who was not charged, got the tickets from Scott LaScala.
LaScala signed for the tickets after they were mistakenly delivered to his office, then began distributing and selling them, authorities said.
Lascala, 40, of Newark, Del., was charged with theft and conspiracy and released on $2,000 bond.
The Phillies have voided all the 324 season tickets connected with the incident, police said.
