The "Duke" of Bucks County has won a court case over the use of his nickname for reelection.

A judge has dismissed Tom Lingenfelter's challenge of Bucks County Sheriff Edward "Duke" Donnelly.

The men are competing for the Republican nomination.

Lingenfelter says the Donnelly's usage of that nickname violates the state constitution.

He says it prohibits titles of nobility.

The judge didn't agree.

Donnelly's lawyer argued that dropping "Duke" would cause confusion for voters who already know Donnelly by that nickname from past elections.

Lingenfelter has yet to return our calls seeking comment.
