Allentown man sentenced to 5 years behind bars for transporting $25,000 in heroin through Hunterdon County
An Allentown man was sentenced to five years behind bars for being caught in Hunterdon County with $25,000 worth of heroin he was transporting between Plainfield,, N.J. and Easton, said Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III.
Lamont Gregory, 36, was sentenced Friday to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to second degree Possession of CDS (heroin in an amount greater than ½ ounce).
Gregory was arrested back in July following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 in Readington Township.
During the stop, police discovered that Gregory, a passenger in the vehicle, was a wanted person.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle contained 2,750 bags of heroin with a street value of $25,000. Follow-up investigation revealed that the heroin was being transported from Plainfield, New Jersey to Easton, Pennsylvania.”
