A longtime volunteer firefighter in Bucks County had died in a head-on crash in Montana.

Officials say Todd Rummel, 44, was killed on Thursday, June 19th in a collision near Three Forks, Montana, where he had served as chief of the fire department.

Officials say the crash happened as Rummel was driving the department's fire engine. At least four people in the other vehicle were also killed.

Rummel joined the Three Forks Fire Department in 2005, and he was promoted to chief just over a month ago.

Before moving to Montana, Rummel served as a volunteer firefighter for the Haycock Fire Company in Quakerstown, where he was a lifetime member.
