A teen accused of trying to rape a mother of three at a Montgomery County park is headed to trial.

Sixteen-year-old Herson Guardado, a homeless citizen of El Salvador, waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday and a charge of kidnapping was added.

Police say Guardado approached a 25-year-old woman from the back as she was putting her children in a car at Stoney Creek Park on E. Hancock Street in Lansdale on January 13th.

He stuck what she believed to be a knife in her side and began to forcibly walk her toward a wooded area, police said, and allegedly told the victim, "you want sex."

The woman was able to get away from Guardado and he fled into the woods.

Police caught Guardado in Upper Gwynedd Twp. a short time later.

He was charged as an adult with attempted rape, attempted sexual assault, unlawful restraint, simple assault, possession of marijuana and related charges.

Guardado's bail was modified to $99,000. No court date has been set.

He remains in the Montgomery County Correctional facility.
