Indictment against woman charged in abducting Philly girl
Woman accused of posing as mother, kidnapping 5-year-old from school
A Philadelphia day care worker, charged with the abduction and rape of a 5-year-old girl, has been indicted by a grand jury.
Christina Regusters remains the sole person charged in the Jan. 14 kidnapping. Formal arraignment is set for May 20.
Officials said the girl was allowed to leave school with a woman who posed as her mother and took her to a nearby home, where she was sexually assaulted. The girl was found the next day at a playground, shivering and partially clothed.
Regusters was charged with kidnapping, rape and conspiracy. She's being held on $4 million bail.
Her attorney said she maintains her innocence.
